Haridwar to Chandigarh Taxi Service

220 km  |  5–5.5 hours  |  one-way drop or round trip
Plains all the way Airport & station drops Fixed fare

Quick answer: Chandigarh is about 220 km from Haridwar and takes 5 to 5.5 hours, all on the plains: Roorkee, Saharanpur, Yamunanagar, Ambala, then up the highway into Chandigarh. Flat, fast and unaffected by hill weather. Pickup from Har Ki Pauri's nearest point, any ashram or hotel, or Haridwar Junction; drop at the airport, the station or any address in the tricity. Fares depend on vehicle and whether you need a one-way drop or a round trip — the table below is live from our rate desk. Call 7830211223 to confirm.

The straight plains road

Unlike the Rishikesh and Dehradun runs, Haridwar to Chandigarh never climbs. It goes west to Roorkee, on to Saharanpur, then north-west through Yamunanagar to Ambala and up the Delhi-Chandigarh highway. Four-lane most of the way, five hours on an ordinary day, and the only thing that slows it is fog in December and January.

It is the return road for Punjab's pilgrims after Haridwar, and increasingly the airport connection: land at Chandigarh, taxi to Haridwar and Rishikesh, taxi back. Allow five and a half hours plus check-in for a flight.

The road

  • Haridwar → Roorkee — 30 km
  • Saharanpur (100 km) — breakfast
  • Yamunanagar → Ambala — the plains
  • Chandigarh (220 km) — up the highway from Ambala

Timing

All year, all hours. Fog on the Saharanpur-Ambala stretch in December and January adds half an hour to an hour; we start earlier rather than drive faster. Kanwar weeks in July and August close central Haridwar; the pickup moves to the outer barrier and we tell you.

For a Chandigarh airport departure, allow six hours from a Haridwar pickup.
